Nigel Baker
Nigel Baker
Founder,
Scientiam

‘Nigel Baker is the Founder of Scientiam.com.au an online digital advice platform. Scientiam was founded to solve a problem faced in his financial advice business Arch Capital, where clients were asking to help children, grandchildren, and friends, however as those in the industry know too well the cost to serve clients was increasing and not all clients require complex advice. With a desire to help and also a curiosity to solve the problem, Scientiam or ‘knowledge’ in Latin was created and has now been launched for other professionals to use with their clients.

Nigel is also a Chartered Accountant and Certified Financial Planner and has been in the industry for over 20 years, starting off with a major bank, then heading up the wealth division in Sydney for what was at the time Australia’s 5th largest accounting group before starting his own independent firm in 2012.

He is the author of “The Super-Secret” published in 2021 and has sat on a committee for the Financial Planning Association and is regularly quoted in various industry press and involved in industry round tables.’

Peita Diamantidis
Peita Diamantidis
Co-Founder of Caboodle Financial Services,
Host of the Ensombl AdviceTech Podcast

An Actuarial Studies survivor at university, Peita’s first adventure in finance over 20 years ago was set in the shark infested waters of Investment Banking. While proving a human can actually work over 100hrs a week, she also learnt the importance of translating the complex for her clients – smarts were simply not enough. By anchoring important concepts with storytelling, her clients were able to absorb the intricate concepts & make decisions with confidence.

When Peita moved into Financial Advice this continued to ring true, & culminated in the release of her Finance Action Hero book series in 2014 & 2016. Over time, it became clear that there was an additional mindset Peita needed to develop and tap into – the entrepreneurial mindset – with a focus on being nimble, looking for incremental improvement and constantly questioning the norm. This ultimately resulted in her current fascination with applied innovation – the adoption of innovative business models, the development of innovative products and technologies and the engagement of the public in more innovative ways.
